Healers, Its Time for You to Shine: An Interview with Creative Healer Khristee Rich

Khristee and I attended the same high school in Connecticut, although I don’t know if even talked to each other back then!  She is a professional actress now and used to star in many theater productions in high school.  Now we’re connected on Facebook and I learned that she is a Reiki practitioner, shaman and a Confidence and Visibility Coach as well!  Well of course I had to interview her and hear her story.

SG: Describe you and your business.  How did you get started?

I was an actress for many years.  I got a chronic illness and started searching for a remedy.  I researched holistic health alternatives.  The first modality I became certified in was Reiki.  I attended a yoga class where the teacher was a Reiki practitioner.  I tried a Reiki session with her and felt better.  I decided to become certified with Reiki and started seeing clients.

Reiki definitely makes it easier to connect to spirit.  A lot of people start with Reiki, it can really change you. And some people just stop there and feel that it is enough.

I was never scared of Reiki because I was so sick, what else could happen?  It really made me feel happy.  It makes me feel very grounded and supported.

I got involved with shamanism when I saw a poster about a Russian shaman and decided to study with him for several years. A massage therapist sponsored him to come and teach in CT. He is the founder of a Modern Mystery School with nine different levels of healing.  He taught me how to heal on a spiritual level and how to connect to spirit and visualize healing.  He also taught me how to balance energies, focusing on yin and yang energy and using colors.  I decided to focus on healing through breath.

I don’t like labels and I try to give people information on what I do.  I do Reiki/Shamanism as well as intuitive readings.  I do in person sessions or on line by Skype or on the phone.

My business is called the Dancing Curtain and I am a Visibility and Confidence coach for entrepreneurs.  I help creative people shine.  As an actress it was hard to get my business going.  It’s important for people to showcase their talent and their light, especially in the world today.  Being an artist is tough; we receive so much criticism and rejection.  I use Reiki and Shamanism to release blocks and boost their confidence and provide healing and guidance on their life purpose.  Finally, I help them create engaging on line videos.

SG: Who inspires you?

Meryl Streep because she’s able to transform into any role and refuses to be stereo typed.  This is how we should all be, authentic.  Also I am inspired by Albert Einstein because I believe he was very spiritual person.

SG: What’s the most important thing a teacher or mentor taught you and why?

Be truthful to yourself and be authentic.  Light is more powerful than the darkness.  We all have power and can do so much greatness in the world.  No one has all the power.  We are all powerful and can create change.

SG: When was the first time you realized you were different, especially spiritually?

I’ve always been different.  As a child, I saw numbers as colors and vice versa and I saw people as colors.  I had fun with it and played with it. One time my mother took me to work and I met the boss who wanted me to tell him what color he was!

I could look at the reflection of the sun on the water and depending on the brightness it could be an 11 or 17. I can still do this if I really concentrate but it doesn’t come easily to me anymore.

SG: When did you decide to find out what your gifts were and how to use them?

After I got trained as a Reiki practitioner.

SG: If you could give advice to your younger self about your gifts, what would you say?

Don’t worry so much about what other people think of you.  We fall to peer pressure; I would have leapt into this earlier if I didn’t care about what others think.

SG: What advice would you give to someone who just discovered their spiritual gifts?

Congratulations, this is an exciting new time for you.  You will meet many teachers.  Always be discerning.  You have your inner guidance and always follow your intuition.

SG: What part of your gift is your favorite and why?  What is your least favorite and why?

My favorite part is my wild imagination.  My least favorite is promotion.  This interview is fun promotion by the way.

SG: Tell me a funny story that happened to you regarding your gifts?

When I was practicing my Reiki and shamanism, I asked an intuitive friend if I could practice on him. He had been having stomach pain at the time. Suddenly he sits up during the session and says, “What are you doing?”  I said, “I’m healing you.”  He said, “I can actually feel it!  I really didn’t think you could do anything.” I mean what did he expect?

SG: What do you wish that people knew or understood the most about you?

I am here to bring people closer to spirit, bring them joy and help them find their life purpose.  A lot of my clients were healers in past lives, and they were persecuted and didn’t have the chance to flourish.  Now these healers have a chance to rise up and heal the world.  Karma is allowing the tipping of scales.  They have the power in this lifetime.

SG: Why do you think the Creator gave us these gifts?  And what are we supposed to use them for? Why are we here?

Some people see me as a healer or perfect or that I know it all.  I am human and have some healing to do on my own and I have setbacks too.  I want people to know how important this is to me.  I want to help people and help serve.  I’m multi-passionate, I am a healer and a creative person.  It’s two different ways to heal the world.

SG: What do you wish the world would know or understand?

We’re all one.  That’s very hard for people to understand, it’s an illusion that we are a separate.  I had a near death experience and know that we are all connected.  Whatever problem you have, fear or anger, it’s really a part of you.  Go inward and heal yourself.  Focus on healing those around you but remember, you are no better than any other living being.

SG: What do you envision the world will be like in the future?

We’re going to be on a spaceship going somewhere else (laughs)!  We still have some work too, but we are going toward light and healing.  A lot of changes will happen. We may learn to levitate or perform telepathy.

We have to be conscious of what we’re creating. Anything is a possibility.  We have the power and we don’t have to rely on technology.
