Tarot 101: How to Read the Tarot Intuitively
Curious about the Tarot but overwhelmed by the symbols? Not sure how to begin using the Tarot? This class is for you! This class will teach you how to read Tarot cards intuitively without memorizing symbols. Although it’s useful to understand the symbol’s meaning, it’s not necessary to know them in order to give yourself or others a reading. Since the Tarot (as well as Oracle Cards) are a divination tool. you are meant to use your intuition to decipher the cards’ meanings.
In this class we will cover:
- Traditional Tarot symbolism
- How to connect energetically with your card deck
- How to use your intuition to read the Tarot
- Simple card spreads
- Time to practice giving readings for yourself and othersTraditional Tarot (Rider Wait deck) Major Arcana (Mysteries) are 22 Cards that represent major life events
Minor Arcana are 56 cards that represent minor life events that are divided into four categories…
- Cups/Water: feelings and relationships
- Wands/Fire: ideas, social life, careers, activities and spiritual topics
- Swords/Air: words, communication, conflict, thought, stress or struggle
- Pentacles/Coins/Earth: money, prosperity, health, material world
Pip Cards are Ace through 10 in the Minor Arcana.
Ace: new beginnings or opportunities 2: relationships
3: creativity, growth and expression 4: structure, order and balance
5: challenges that bring opportunities

- One card reading: card of the day or yes/no questions. A positive card is yes and a challenging card means no.
- Two card spreads…using bridging to connect two cards and get your answer
- Timing question…use the number of the card and ask Spirit is it days, weeks, months, years?
- Got 5 questions? Pull 5 cards
- Past, present future (pull three cards)
- Pull a Major arcana card and use the number on the top (i.e. The Chariot is number 7 thereforeyou pull seven cards). If you a pull a high number card, just reduce the number by adding it together. Angel Tarot, Archangel Power Tarot and Guardian Angel Tarot Cards all have numbers.
- Celtic Cross is a 10 card spread answering one question in detail.

- When you get a new pack, open the pack and touch/look at every card.
- If someone touches your cards, knock the cards with your fist to clear the energy. If your cardsseems to be “off” knock the energy of the cards or sage them.
Helpful Hints
- To connect with your cards, hold them to your heart and ask your question.
- Keep a journal just for Tarot. Pull one for yourself every day and writes notes on what youintuitively get from the card/s.
